Job description

24 month fixed term contract with a leading financial services business providing line 1 risk management to a people & culture business unit.

 

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Assist with the day-to-day management and oversight of the People and Culture business and ensure relevant regulatory and compliance requirements are satisfied by implementing the Risk Management Framework.
  • Ensuring a sound control environment is maintained as part of BAU and change business activities. 
  • Input to design and testing of appropriate controls and standard operating procedures when needed including enhancement of existing risk monitoring.
  • Undertake activities to ensure policies and procedures are appropriately embedded into business operations.
  • Monitor risk and perform Control Self-Assessment, identifying any issues / controls gaps and address root cause by improving controls.
  • Proactively manage open issues including audit issues and incidents ensuring that the business is on track with remediation and providing timely responses.
  • Support end to end processing for all raised incidents, including root cause analysis, systems and reporting, and post review.
  • Provide expertise to the P&C team activities in Risk Management and build knowledge in the team to enhance a positive risk culture.
  • Preparation of risk materials and content for various risk forums at Rest.
  • Preparation of risk content for ELT and RC meetings.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Postgraduate qualifications desirable but not essential.
  • 5 years’ experience in risk and compliance in a HR/people function is a must e.g. workplace health and safety, employee relations, culture risk management, talent risk management.
  • Experience in financial services desirable not but essential.
  • Ability to understand complex concepts whilst working collaboratively with both the business and wider risk teams.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects/tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an environment requiring high attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, coupled with sound oral and written communications skills.
  • Experience and understanding of compliance obligations/requirements and the identification of relevant controls to address obligations.
