Job description
This leading Australian Bank is looking for a senior manager for their credit risk assurance function. The role will have responsibility around implementing credit risk frameworks, providing oversight over the decisioning for consumer/retail and commercial lending.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Line 2 credit risk assurance, including credit hindsight and credit risk reviews.
- Conduct portfolio and thematic reviews to assess credit quality and risks.
- Reviewing individual credit events and providing recommendations.
- Supervise the credit hindsight function, including reviewing individual findings.
- Continuously review and enhance assurance frameworks and standards.
- Prepare and present reports on credit risk assurance outcomes to senior management and the board.
- Collaborate with business units to improve credit risk assessment and provide training.
- Offer feedback to credit assessment teams on hindsight outcomes.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of credit risk professionals.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, or a related field.
- 8-10 years of experience in credit risk management, preferably in banking.
- Proven leadership experience in senior risk management roles.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Expertise in credit policies, processes, and assurance frameworks.
- Attention to detail with the ability to assess and mitigate credit risks.
- Collaborative mindset, working effectively across teams.
