You’ll partner with key business units and external counsel to deliver high-quality legal outcomes in a collaborative and agile environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
Advising on legal and regulatory matters affecting the bank’s consumer lending, products, and operations- Identifying, assessing, and mitigating legal risks and compliance issues
- Managing breach assessments and preparing regulatory notifications
- Reviewing customer documentation and marketing collateral for legal accuracy
- Supporting legal proceedings and overseeing the work of external legal counsel
- Working closely with senior leaders to support business objectives and protect the bank’s reputation
What We’re Looking For
- 5 PQE+ ideally with experience in retail banking law
- Eligibility to hold an unrestricted practising certificate in Australia
- Strong understanding of financial services regulation, including the Corporations Act and NCCP Act
- Ability to translate complex legal issues into practical advice for non-lawyers
- Experience working with regulators such as ASIC or APRA is highly regarded
- A proactive, independent thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment
