Recent Recruitment Trends

• Difficult environment with redundancies due to cost cutting
• Junior-fication – senior roles are being made redundant and replaced with more junior personnel
• There is growth in some areas, particular the alternatives space, both client and administration

 Skills in demand

• SMEs with hands on technical knowledge- lack of talent in this space onshore due to offshoring

•  Transitions – lots happening in this space

• Alternatives – a growth area  

Advice for candidates

• It will take time to find right role – fewer opportunities and lots of competition

Advice for clients

•  Use agencies for niche roles where TA are having less success
•  Make quick offers to candidates – those of a high calibre will be getting several offers so don’t lose out to the competition
