Market update March 2023: Data

In case you missed the T+O+M Talk video, here's a summary from Ben Wooldridge on recruitment activity for Data at the start of 2023.

Data Engineering is seeing the same stabilisation in the market as in other specialties, where job volumes are returning to pre-Covid levels and salaries, whilst still high, have normalised.
There is currently a strong focus on customer data in response to tighter regulations on how data is stored, protected and governed.
As a result, Reporting, Analytics & Insights is in the highest demand of the Data Engineering skill set as businesses look to be able to provide and interpret granulated data to both the business and regulators.
This means candidates with Power BI & Tableau skills are desirable
A competitive salary and job security are key drivers for candidates facing rising costs of living
